History
The hiring of "good" employees remains the major challenge to any organization. This is about to become exacerbated by the forthcoming retirement of the "Baby Boomer" generation. Knowledge of the reasons leading to many employees leaving prematurely is essential if steps are to be taken to prevent these losses of often fully trained operators in whom many dollars have been invested.

The cost of hiring, training, and maximizing the potential of a new employee, even in the lowest paid positions runs into the thousands of dollars. Many of these employees would not be leaving if the issues that caused their demise had been addressed. Of course they cannot be addressed unless they are known.

Objective
To identify the reasons employees remain on staff, or leave prematurely, and thus informed, take appropriate action to correct the negative situations existing such as high turnover, low morale or productivity, attendance and so on.

Methodology
Employees are interviewed (or complete an online interview) and are questioned on the basics of their employment such as Supervisor Treatment, On Boarding Process, Training, Corporate Culture, Benefits, and any other area that is considered relevant. The interview should consist of Objective Questions that can be rated, ranked and graphed, and Subjective Questions that relate to those objective Questions.

Results
The results of the interviews must be readily available for analysis as soon as the process is complete. The means of analysis must be simple, and above all capable of providing meaningful reports. Today’s technology enables this analysis to be on line and spontaneous.

Programs
The advent of modern technology means that all surveys (live or online), On Boarding, Intermediate or Exit can be used together to analyze not only concerns, but also trends. A series of interviews conducted with employees after On Boarding and Orientation, followed by an Engagement Interview at for example six months of employment, maybe other Intermediate Interviews, and if they leave, an Exit Interview, will allow trends to be identified and in a very short time action taken to remedy any issues.
